Three universities sign a 5-year initiative to promote research education and commercialization of environmental and water technology.

Sinomem Technology Limited has been chosen as the first industrial partner of the National University of Singapore (NUS), Peking University and the University of Oxford Research Enterprise (SPORE), and the exclusive partner for SPORE green leadership training program.

The 5-year agreement with the world's top universities is an initiative to promote research, education and commercialization of environmental and water technologies.

The initiative launched by Mr. Tan Han Yong Soon, Permanent Secretary Singapore's Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, is a first of its kind in the water technology industry.

SPORE for Water Eco-Efficiency is worth S$63 million. It is supported by the National Research Foundation through the Environment and Water Industry Programme Office (EWI), NUS, Peking University, the University of Oxford, competitive research grants and industry partnerships.

Sinomem has committed to contribute up to S$3 million funding over the next 5 years to study eco-efficient and green technologies for water treatment plant, green technological park and eco-city planning, design and construction.
